Social, Emotional Aspects of Development

 

Overview

 

A 1 day course developed around the 2008 Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) - SEAD practitioner guidance. An opportunity to explore the SEAD materials and consider the links between SEAD, influences on children’s Personal, Social & Emotional Development (PSED) and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

 

 Aim of the Training

 

To develop participants understanding of the SEAD materials

 

 Programme

 

· Exploring SEAD materials

· Links between SEAD and EYFS

· The influences on Children’s PSED

· Tuning into emotions and feelings

· The barriers to attachment

· The role of key person

· Parents as partners

 

Outcomes from the Training

 

 By the end of the session participants will have:

 

· Explored the SEAD materials

· Developed links between SEAD materials and the EYFS

· Explored the importance of PSED in developing positive outcomes for all children

· Explored a range of perspectives and influences on children’s PSED

· Considered the vital role of parents and the importance of working in partnership

· Begun to develop an action plan to promote SEAD in their own setting

· Considered a range of problems practitioners face and developed strategies to support theses
